Monarch Butterfly on Tithonia rotundifolia
Here is a monarch butterfly (Danaus plexippus) on Mexican Sunflower (Tithonia rotundifolia var. 'Torch'). The Tithonia rotundifolia at Horticulture Gardens is especially attractive to butterflies. On this day I noticed about a half dozen monarch butterflies feeding on the Tithonia flowers here. Photo taken September 2, 2015.
